Who is Ludic Machine?
A.K.A. Marcelo Ramírez (1979). Born in Constitución, Maule Region, Chile, and a 9th Art fan since he was a small kid, his artistic career lasted less than a candy: drawing a couple of pages for Caleuche here, a couple episodes of Clérigo in Héroes comicbook there… until he vanished without a trace...
Well, not quite, but it sounds mysterious and cool, Right?… okno.
The truth is, he got married, had two kids, and focused on his career as an engineer, because while his kids mean the world to him, they’re also pretty expensive… until one day the Zombie Apocalypse -wait, no, - COVID pandemic came up.
During lockdown, after doing everything from barista courses to watching the entire Netflix catalog, he thought: What if I start drawing again? So he did exercises to treat the carpal tunnel syndrome in his left hand (yep, he’s a lefty), and started drawing again, this time digitally. And well, the rest is history: he’s currently working on his series The Ballad of Ciriaco Contreras, which already has three episodes ready to present at Comic Con Chile 2025.
He’s now so used to digital drawing that his daughter bullies him ever since she saw him one day trying to zoom in with his fingers... on a sheet of paper.
